Integrated Workforce Planning Platform with Automatic Route Optimisation and CO2 Calculations

The Challenge

A utilities and infrastructure organisation managing large mobile field teams had no structured way to plan daily work assignments, optimise travel between sites, or measure the carbon impact of their field operations — all of which were growing priorities for the business and their clients.

The Solution

We built an integrated workforce planning platform in Power Apps and Dataverse, incorporating Azure Maps for real-time route optimisation across job assignments. The platform automatically calculates CO2 emissions per route, generates daily optimised run-sheets for field teams, and delivers a Power BI dashboard tracking carbon footprint, fuel costs, and workforce utilisation across the operation.
