Our Work
Real platforms. Real operational challenges. Real outcomes. A selection of the work we've delivered across engineering, construction, and infrastructure organisations.
Replacing Excel-Based Forecasting with an Integrated Commercial Planning Platform
A large infrastructure contractor was managing cost value reconciliation (CVR) and commercial forecasting across multiple programmes using complex, manually maintained spreadsheets. Late updates, version conflicts, and lack of visibility at leadership level were creating significant commercial risk.
We replaced the Excel workflow with an integrated Power Apps and Power BI platform — pulling live data from the project management system, automating CVR calculations, and delivering real-time commercial dashboards to programme directors.

An engineering consultancy needed live visibility into programme schedules, resource loading, and delivery performance — but their P6 data was siloed, requiring manual exports and weeks of effort to produce meaningful reports.
We built a direct integration between Primavera P6 and Microsoft Fabric, establishing an automated data pipeline that refreshed Power BI dashboards daily — giving project directors and commercial teams a live operational picture with no manual intervention.
Read Case Study →Resource Forecasting and Capacity Planning Platform for Engineering Teams
A utilities organisation managing hundreds of engineers across multiple frameworks had no reliable way to forecast resource demand, identify capacity constraints, or plan recruitment needs. Resource decisions were reactive and often based on outdated information.
We delivered a resource forecasting platform in Power Apps and Power BI — enabling programme managers to model demand against available capacity, view forward-looking workforce gaps, and plan recruitment and subcontractor requirements weeks in advance.

A major infrastructure delivery organisation was spending significant commercial team time every month consolidating data from multiple systems into board-level reports. The process was error-prone, slow, and pulled senior commercial staff away from value-adding work.
We automated the end-to-end reporting pipeline using Power Automate and Power BI — pulling data from ERP, project management, and scheduling systems into a unified commercial model that self-refreshed and published to stakeholders automatically.
Read Case Study →Operational Planning Optimisation Using Microsoft Fabric
An environmental consultancy was operating with fragmented data across project management tools, financial systems, and field reporting platforms. Leadership had limited visibility into project performance, utilisation, and profitability in anything close to real time.
We designed and built a Microsoft Fabric lakehouse architecture — ingesting data from all source systems, building a unified semantic model, and delivering an executive Power BI platform covering project performance, utilisation, financial margin, and resource deployment across the portfolio.
Read Case Study →Mobile Field Application for Engineering Inspection and Asset Capture
A construction contractor's site teams were capturing inspection data, defect records, and asset information on paper — leading to delays in data availability, transcription errors, and difficulties producing compliant handover documentation.
We built an offline-capable Power Apps mobile application enabling site engineers to capture inspections, raise defects, photograph assets, and submit records directly from the field. Data flowed automatically into a centralised Power BI reporting environment.
Read Case Study →Custom Website with Interactive Route Mapping for Wales Mountain Guides
Wales Mountain Guides needed a professional online presence that reflected their expertise leading groups across Snowdonia and the wider Welsh mountains — but their existing setup couldn't showcase routes, handle bookings, or perform on mobile in the field.
We designed and built a custom mobile-first website featuring interactive route mapping using Leaflet.js and Ordnance Survey data — allowing visitors to explore guided routes before booking. The site is fast, offline-tolerant, and built for the conditions their clients use it in.
Read Case Study →Integrated Workforce Planning Platform with Automatic Route Optimisation and CO2 Calculations
A utilities and infrastructure organisation managing large mobile field teams had no structured way to plan daily work assignments, optimise travel between sites, or measure the carbon impact of their field operations — all of which were growing priorities for the business and their clients.
We built an integrated workforce planning platform in Power Apps and Dataverse, incorporating Azure Maps for real-time route optimisation across job assignments. The platform automatically calculates CO2 emissions per route, generates daily optimised run-sheets for field teams, and delivers a Power BI dashboard tracking carbon footprint, fuel costs, and workforce utilisation across the operation.

A joint venture between a public body, Tier 1 contractors, and engineering designers managing one of the UK government's top 40 infrastructure projects required an enterprise digital platform to unify delivery across all parties — integrating scheduling, commercial management, ERP data, geospatial information, and regulatory reporting across a £500m portfolio.
We designed and delivered a Siemens Mendix-based enterprise platform integrating Oracle Primavera P6, CEMAR contract management, ArcGIS geospatial data, and ERP systems — alongside a fully custom resource and cost forecasting module giving the joint venture accurate forward visibility of demand, spend, and programme performance. Power BI reporting surfaced the data across all partner organisations. The programme was awarded an InnovateUK grant in partnership with the Centre for Digital Built Britain.

A regional construction contractor required an end-to-end digital transformation of their project delivery, commercial management, and operational processes — moving from siloed systems and manual workflows to a fully integrated digital enterprise built on Microsoft technology and connected to their core project management and supply chain platforms.
We led a full-stack transformation across the business — delivering Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate solutions integrated with Azure SQL, Oracle P6, CEMAR, Radiodetection, and Control Point. The programme included AI-powered bid management using generative AI for tender analysis and response generation, and a machine learning model for rainfall-based resource demand forecasting. The transformation was shortlisted for UK Digital Contractor of the Year 2023 and RoSPA Health & Safety Initiative of the Year 2023.
Read Case Study →Automated Wave Overtopping Calculator for Coastal Defence Design
Coastal and flood-defence engineers were calculating wave overtopping discharge by hand using the EurOtop empirical methods — slow and repetitive across many design permutations. Re-running the numbers for every change in wave height, water level or structure geometry made iteration painfully slow and risked transcription errors.
We built an automated tool that takes the governing inputs — significant wave height and period, still water level, crest freeboard, slope and structure geometry, armour roughness and wave obliquity — and instantly returns the mean overtopping discharge, comparing it against tolerable limits for pedestrian, vehicle and structural safety. Engineers sweep through variants in seconds and converge on a compliant crest level with confidence.
Read Case Study →Automated Retaining Wall Designer — Embedment, Anchors & Wall Thickness
Designing embedded retaining walls means iterating embedment depth, anchor depth and size, and wall thickness across multiple load cases — inclined retained ground, surcharge and surge loading, and varying water-table levels. Doing this by hand for every option is slow and makes it hard to test alternatives or show clients the optimum.
We delivered a design tool that takes the full set of variables — retained height and inclined retention, soil strength parameters, additional surge/surcharge loading and water-table level — and automatically works out the required embedment depth, anchor depth and size, and wall thickness to satisfy stability and structural checks. Hours of hand calculation become seconds, letting engineers optimise the design live.
Read Case Study →Automated Allowable-Loading Calculator for Nuclear Underground Structures, Integrated with Navisworks
On a new nuclear power plant programme, engineers had to determine the allowable loading on a large population of underground structures — a calculation-heavy, safety-critical task repeated across many structures and constantly disturbed by design changes flowing through the federated BIM model. Keeping manual checks synchronised with the model was slow and error-prone.
We built a tool that automatically calculates the allowable loading of underground nuclear structures from the governing design inputs and integrates directly with Autodesk Navisworks — reading structure data from the coordinated BIM model and surfacing allowable-load status against the live design. Loading assessments stayed in step with model changes, giving the programme rapid, auditable visibility across every structure.

On a large housing development with hundreds of plots, setting each unit's finished floor / ground slab level — balancing site levels, drainage falls, flood freeboard and access gradients — was a repetitive manual exercise, error-prone and slow to update whenever the site layout changed.
We built a tool that automatically calculates the optimum ground floor slab level for every plot from the site survey and design inputs, integrated directly with Autodesk AutoCAD — reading plot and level data from the drawings and writing the calculated slab levels back. Levels stayed consistent across the whole development and updated instantly as the layout evolved.
Read Case Study →AI-Powered Knowledge Assistant for Engineering Document Search and Standards Lookup
Engineers at the consultancy were losing hours every week searching for design standards, historical project reports, and internal guidance scattered across SharePoint libraries and shared drives. Without a reliable way to search this knowledge, junior staff routinely fell back on interrupting senior engineers, who had become the informal gatekeepers of institutional know-how.
We built an AI-powered knowledge assistant on Microsoft Copilot Studio, trained directly on the firm's document library. Engineers can now ask questions in plain language and get answers with citations back to the original standards, reports and guidance documents — cutting search time dramatically and freeing senior staff from being the default search engine.
Read Case Study →Digital Incident Reporting and Permit-to-Work System Replacing Paper Safety Records
A construction contractor was running health and safety processes — incident reports, permits to work, toolbox talks and site audits — entirely on paper across multiple active sites. Gathering compliance evidence was slow, and there was no way to spot safety trends before they became repeat incidents.
We replaced the paper processes with a suite of Power Apps covering incident reporting, permit-to-work sign-off, and safety audits, with automatic escalation for anything flagged as critical. Power BI dashboards now give the health and safety team live visibility of incident trends, open actions, and compliance status across every site.
Read Case Study →Embedded Contract Project Management with Live Programme Reporting
A mid-tier contractor needed to scale up project management capacity for a new phase of work, but didn't want to inherit the spreadsheet-based reporting habits that typically come with a conventional PM hire — they wanted digital-first delivery from day one.
Caezen embedded a contract project manager who ran the entire project through Power BI dashboards and structured Power Apps reporting — unifying programme planning, cost tracking, and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) management into a single live view for leadership, and handing over a complete digital record of the project at close.
Read Case Study →Real-Time ERP-to-Power-BI Integration Eliminating Manual Month-End Reporting
An engineering business was spending several days every month manually exporting data from its ERP system into spreadsheets to produce management accounts and project cost reports — a process prone to error and always roughly a month behind actual performance.
We built a direct, automated integration between the ERP system and Power BI, using Power Automate to orchestrate the data flow and Dataverse as the central data hub. Financial and project-cost dashboards now refresh automatically every day instead of monthly, giving finance and commercial teams a live, accurate picture of performance.
